Find out more!

SeaTrek offers tropical adventure summer camp programs for junior high, high school and college-aged students in the British Virgin Islands and other islands throughout the Caribbean.

Voyages revolve around hands-on sailing, learning to scuba dive, and instruction in marine science. All of our educational experiences are geared toward adventure, leadership, growth and fun. Previous sailing and scuba diving experience is not required. In fact, most of our students have neverbeen sailing or scuba diving before they join our program. SeaTrek students live and play onboard one of several 46-foot catamaran sailing yachts equipped with the latest safety equipment and onboard technology. Explore the Moorings 4600 and its equipment. Our staff of scuba and sailing instructors is the best in the industry, having years of experience teaching and guiding students all over the world.

We offer two and three-week scuba summer camps at five different experience levels, Trek 1 - Trek 5. In addition to scuba and sailing instruction, our naturalists and marine biologist will introduce students to the tropical ecology and wildlife of the islands and their surrounding reefs. Our science program provides an interesting variety of interactive, hands-on marine science activities. Interested students can also choose from a number of exciting community service opportunities and academic credit options.

Get ready for a new level of excitement and learning. Tap into your undiscovered potential. Learn more about the world and yourself than you ever dreamed possible. What are you waiting for? Join us for the ultimate Summer Camp at Sea!

    • Amazing Program!

Both of our kids did SeaTrek BVI for three summers, and had amazing experiences. They received extensive training from amazing instructors that led to their receiving multiple NAUI certifications, and to their being skilled and experienced SCUBA divers. They were able to see up close, and come to appreciate more fully, the plethora of underwater wildlife with which the BVI is blessed. They also made great friendships, many of which have continued to this day.

The trip is not a cushy luxury cruise; the kids are responsible for preparing meals, keeping the boats organized and clean, and assisting with the sailing. They really enjoyed the work and the camraderie.

My wife and I got a taste of the SeaTrek experience this past winter when we took a trip to the BVI organized by Captain Monk so that we could get certified and dive with our kids. Captain Farva, who our kids knew well, was an amazing instructor; incredibly skilled, thorough and knowledgeable. We had a memorable trip; the first of what we hope will be many.

I have been coming to SeaTrek since my freshman year of high school and I can say that without a doubt it has been the highlight of all my summers since. This is more than just a summer camp it's a family you will look forward to seeing each year.

There's an incredible sense of community when you become part of SeaTrek. The first summer I went on a 3-week voyage and developed my scuba skills-I even got certifications in rescue and advanced diver. I also worked on sailing and turtle tagging, which are other ways to learn more about the marine environment in the British Virgin Islands. This past summer I spent 7 weeks with SeaTrek, working, learning, and playing, and all without the internet or my cell phone (which you will not miss, I am promising you). I even became a NAUI-certified master scuba diver. The positivity of the crew and the campers is really contagious. I can't wait to go back next summer!

This program is AMAZING. My son attended their BVI program this past summer. He loved every second of it. He was a beginner and fell in love with the ocean and the activities. All of the counselors were great and he was kept safe. 100% recommend. He is already signed up for next year! If you are considering this, then definitely go for it. You won't be sorry!

SeaTrek is an amazing summer camp because it not only gives students the opportunity to explore the Caribbean from sailing, to diving, to science; but SeaTrek gives its students a home. The "close quarters" of a 48-foot catamaran provide the perfect chance to create lasting friendships. I came into SeaTrek knowing no one at the camp, and ended my first year with a network of lifelong friends. I learned so much about SCUBA, sailing, science, and myself. I came out of SeaTrek more independent, more confident, and full of memories that will last me a lifetime. With a staff dedicated to making the trip amazing for everyone, and the ocean at my fingertips, it's the perfect summer adventure.

Seatrek is a truly life changing experience. It is a summer program like no other. Living on a boat in one of the most beautiful places in the world, scuba diving and sleeping under the stars is dreamlike. Among marine adventure camps no other matches the family feel that seatrek provides. By the end of the trip with the incredible staff and students every boat feels like a second family. Through seatrek I have gained a sense of adventure, independence and maturity I would not have developed otherwise. Through their marine science program, I have also developed a profound understanding, curiosity, and appreciation for the marine environment. The advice I would give about seatrek? Go! I promise you it is as if not more amazing than it sounds.

My son was a bit reluctant to go by himself; however he was interested in the underworld so he took a leap of faith. It was certainly a life changing experience for him. I think that he accomplished so many things over the course of three weeks that his confidence and independence really took root. I also this he realized his experiences would influence his entire life. He was so proud when his scuba certifications arrived in the mail and still loves sharing his experience months laters with adults and his friends, especially the 500 photos that were developed. The fact that he called from his excursion to ask to go back next year tells the entire story. His favorite person from the trip was the counselor who travelled the world scuba diving. Remember this was someone who was on the fence about going and definitely thought he would be missing out all summer hanging out with his friends.

SeaTrek is one of the best summer camps I have ever attended! Between the location, staff, and diving, SeaTrek is an excellent place to explore any passion you may have in marine science, sailing, or scuba diving.

Having first gone to SeaTrek as a student over 6 years ago now, it is with great happiness that I can look back and thank my parents so very much for choosing to allow me to spend 3 weeks of my summer vacation on a beautiful catamaran, in gorgeous location and meeting other people that I still speak to today. SeaTrek allowed me to not only gain a knowledge of how to scuba dive but a passion for marine biology and a perspective of how important the oceans are to us as human beings. Even being a small 13 years old with a funny accent I never felt once as though I was different to anyone else and everyone seemed to come out of their shell and we had the best of times. I cannot recommend this camp enough to anyone looking to give their children an experience of a lifetime where they will come back and, I guarantee, talk non-stop about the time they had there and all the amazing and fascinating things they learnt from being at SeaTrek and participating in everyday boat life.

I absolutely love SeaTrek! It is an amazing experience on that is once in a lifetime. This camp has campers be the crew on a real boat. They tie knots, cleats, and even set sail! It is a remarkable adventure. You cook, clean, and dive every day. So buy the time they come back they will be pros and can clean the head(bathroom on a boat). I most of all enjoy the experience that the camper will have with him/her for the rest of their life. The friendship that you make in just a couple days that will last a lifetime is remarkable. I talk all the time to my friends from my voyages. It is a place to unplug from the world and figure out who you are away from your school and friends that you have grown up with. It is a chance to create the you that you want everyone to know. This can lead to amazing things in the campers future after SeaTrek!

I first started to get more scuba dive experience. However within the first few days I made friends that will last a lifetime and it sparked my interest in marine biology. It is super cool because the next summer I got to further my knowledge on marine life.I went to FATHOMS and had a blast. I was nice because they give you things to study before hand and from being in a landlocked state it was amazing to get hands on experience with the marine life. If you are interested in marine biology I suggest doing FATHOMS, but if you are looking for a good time any of the treks are perfect for you!

OK...let me preempt my review by saying I don't normally do "broad brush" reviews; I tend to find them generic and too easy to write and therefore ignore. I dislike trip advisor for this very reason.
But, very occasionally I break my self imposed rule and for SeaTrek BVI I do this in spades
SeaTrek BVI has provided the kind of life changing experience for both my daughters (whom attended the BVI 2 week voyage last year) that is truly remarkable - I cannot praise Capt Monk and his team highly enough, as a bunch of professional, supportive and life affirming individuals, they (and the experiences that they provided for my two daughters) are totally beyond reproach.
I wish I was a teenager again, but sadly I am off to work to pay for next year voyage.
Don't doubt and don't over-think, if you have kids that fancy getting a set of experiences in a controlled and managed way that isn't overbearing or artificial but just amazing then book a voyage....
      Cheers

Kelly had the most incredible time on her Set Sail Voyage. She was nervous when she learned that she would be the only "new" person on her boat (the other kids had been there for almost 2 weeks), but everyone on her boat welcomed her and treated her like a rock star. She got her scuba certification, made great friends and had an awesome time!

I can't even explain how much my kids have enjoyed and learned from this program. My daughter started in the summer of 2013 and then both kids went in the summer of 2014. My son will go again this summer for 3 weeks and my daughter will go for 7 weeks as an intern. This is truly one of the best run "camp" adventures out there. I'm pretty sure all first-time parents get a little worried about sending their precious children off so far away for that period of time. However, I can promise you that the SeaTrek staff will go to great lengths to ensure the safety and well-being of your kids. I would no more think twice about sending either one of mine down there than I would sending them to the grocery store around the corner. Not only do the kids get to enjoy their beautiful surroundings, but they also learn more about life than they ever could at a traditional land-based camp. To be honest, the information about our oceans & environment that my kids have brought home has taught me a lot. These kids don't even realize they're learning so much. This camp isn't just for Marine Science junkies. It's for any kid who can at least swim. If you ever have a question or concern, please don't hesitate to contact me. I will be more than happy to honestly answer your questions.

Seatrek was an amazing experience that I will never forget. Being a part of the FATHOMS program helped me jump start my knowledge of the marine world and reassure me of my want to become a marine biologist. Through snorkeling and scuba diving everyday, not only did I become very comfortable with both activities, I also gained a great sense of connection to the waters of these islands and fostered a want to do my part to protect them. The community formed between all the boats and the Seatrek staff is very inclusive and fun. I have so many great memories from SeaTrek and exploring the islands, I would recommend it for everyone!

Without a doubt, SeaTrek camps have been the BEST EXPERIENCES OF MY LIFE! I attended SeaTrek for two summers and learned so much, made so many friends, and gained valuable skills. The camps also helped me affirm that I should pursue my dream of a career in marine science, and gave me an introduction as to what that kind of career would be like. Oh, and besides preparing me for my future career, did I mention that SeaTrek was just all around FUN? I couldn't have asked for a better summer camp, and I can't think of a single criticism of Sea Trek and its amazing staff.
