Are you fascinated by the world of artificial intelligence? In this interactive program, you will learn basic self-driving concepts, machine learning algorithms, neural network architecture, and data analysis techniques. You will be exposed to deep neural networks such as CNN and RSNET in the deep neural networks platform PyTorch. Outside class, you will experience campus life and meet new like-minded people.
The Stony Brook University Pre-College Summer — Machine Learning program is designed for rising high school juniors, and seniors interested in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and self-driving cars. You will gain experience in neural networks such as CNN and ResNet in the deep neural networks platform PyTorch.
Course Content
This experiential program combines lectures and immersive hands-on activities where you will:
- Learn the basics of machine learning and self-driving.
- Manually drive home-designed radio-controlled (RC) cars.
- Observe a demo of our self-driving RC car.
- Go through the development flow with given instructions, where you will test drive RC robots, collect data, and train neural networks to autonomously drive the RC cars
To be accepted into this program, you must be a rising junior or senior in good academic standing. For 2025, this program is open only to US residents between the ages of 15 and 17.
