    Overview

Our overnight summer camp programs are available for adventurers ages 10 – 17. We offer one and two week programs where we go on whale watches, visit the puffin nesting colony on Machias Seal Island, and offer hands-on lessons on the island of Grand Manan in the Bay of Fundy.

The Whale Camp's hands-on programming and vibrantly personal experiences brings students face-to-face to study whales, porpoises, seals, puffins and numerous other marine and avian species in their own natural habitat.  These experiences have proven to be both life-affirming and life-changing, igniting and inspiring a passionate curiosity to learn more about our ocean's and planet's life processes.

Board a whale watching boat to experience the magic of ocean life up close and personal. Help collect data to document whale distribution, feeding and behavioral patterns. Gain hands-on experience using onboard marine biology equipment. Unveil the powerful and endangered processes of life in the sea. Explore beaches, coastal trails and fishing villages. Investigate life in the tidal pools and bogs.

While some programs teach you about marine biology with lots of time in a classroom, we take you out to sea three days each week to directly encounter whales and other marine life for the best marine science experience. Whale Camp is a place where inspiration, exploration and discovery abound. This is why, of all marine biology camps and marine science programs, Whale Camp is the best experience.
