UChicago offers pre-college students the opportunity to experience college-level rigor while living on campus with peers from all around the world. In our undergraduate-level courses, you will receive personalized attention from faculty, researchers, and other professionals. Classes typically have 25 students or fewer, and are conducted in our signature seminar style. All courses have hands-on or experiential components to allow you to explore a topic of interest in-depth.
Courses are three weeks long and are open to rising freshmen (at least 14 years old), sophomores and juniors. Each summer course is the equivalent of a full, quarter-long (10 week). You should expect to spend six hours per day on coursework.
The Immersion program is residential. Sutdnets live in residence and attend class in-person. There is no hybrid or remote option for Immersion courses. Remote instruction is available via our Summer Online and Summer College course offerings.
