    Overview

Have fun with visual arts this summer! Watercolor and paint on canvas with acrylics, Tee shirt design, clay sculpture,  mixed media, and beading are just some of the media we will use. Examples of our projects include drawing and painting from nature, burlap embroidery, paper marbleizing, tie-dye.

Renee Malowitz joined the Worcester Academy faculty in 2014.  At WA she teaches visual arts and runs the after school art program. She is a teaching artist who has taught children of all ages throughout Central Massachusetts.  For the past 15 years, her teaching venues have been as varied as summer camps, Mass Cultural Council Grant workshops, and independent schools.  She holds a diploma from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and has studied at Worcester Art Museum and the Worcester Center for Crafts.  Her classes are fun, fast-paced and challenging, she teaches a variety of techniques and draws from art history to inspire children.
