    Overview

    Do you like art, history, and story telling? Do you want to learn more about the Holocaust?Then apply to the David Labkovski Project’s Student Docent & Leadership Program and become part of an international team of people who understand the importance of bearing witness to the history of the Holocaust. After being accepted and completing training,  student docents will curate an exhibit and educate exhibit visitors about the Holocaust.

    The David Labkovski Project's Mission is to educate through the art of David Labkovski (1906-1991). By engaging viewers with his paintings and sketches, the David Labkovski Project shares lessons of life, survival, tolerance, acceptance, and the importance of bearing witness to history.

    Student Docent Commitment, Responsibilities & Benefits

    Accepted applicants will:

    • Complete seven one-hour virtual training sessions (meetings are once a month)
    • Engage with the art and historical context of the artwork
    • Collaborate with students from different schools
    • Gain leadership, speaking, and docent skills
    • Earn community service hours
    • Upon completion of the program, student docents will have opportunities to docent at in-person school or community events.
