    Overview

For Love of Children (FLOC) offers educational support to under-resourced youth in Washington, DC, helping students succeed from second grade through college and beyond. The Neighborhood Tutoring Program pairs tutors with students for weekly one-on-one sessions focused on reading or math. Instead of just helping with homework, tutors identify skill gaps and use research-based curricula to build grade-level skills.

No experience is needed—training is provided! Ideal tutors are patient, creative, flexible, and committed for a school year or summer. Volunteers must be 16+ and fluent in English (math-only tutoring available for non-native speakers).
