    Overview

    At Girls on the Run we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curriculum which includes dynamic discussions, active games, and training to complete a 5K distance running event at the end of the season.

    Serving as a Junior Coach is a fun and rewarding way for individuals under 18 years of age to get involved with Girls on the Run and make a difference in the lives of girls throughout their community. You get to experience the program first-hand, feel a sense of accomplishment, and have fun with your team of coaches and incredible girls! The position entails approximately 4 hours per week for an 8-week commitment.

    Junior Coaches must:

    • Be a high school student
    • Attend Girls on the Run coach training
    • Be able to attend practices once or twice per week
    • Complete a Coach Application

    And should:

    • Have excellent communication skills and adaptability
    • Be interested in youth development and healthy lifestyles
    • Have fun!
