    Overview

ICA Miami is dedicated to promoting continuous experimentation in contemporary art, advancing new scholarship, and fostering the exchange of art and ideas throughout the Miami region and internationally.

The Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami’s youth programs offers advanced educational programming and opportunities to gain experience in the visual arts fields.

Young Artists Initiative (YAI) is the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami’s selective youth arts development program. YAI connects young artists to the museum’s collection and local arts community through an immersive two-year program that explores a different theme or practice each year. Participants are encouraged to look critically at contemporary art practices and are provided with opportunities to work directly with leading artists. At the end of the program, students in grades 10–12 will participate in an exhibition of their work at the museum. Students are also offered additional opportunities, including a field trip to Art Basel Miami Beach, scholarships, internships, and summer jobs.

ICA Miami’s Portfolio Prep for Academic Art Programs offer students in both middle and high schools a virtual summer experience where participants will engage with museum educators and artists to develop their portfolios.
