    Overview

Special Needs Arts Programs, Inc. provides people with disabilities opportunities that celebrate each person’s unique abilities while cultivating creative expression, building peer relationships, and fostering self-esteem through life-enhancing activities in the arts.

Volunteering with SNAP is fun and rewarding. We have opportunities available in both our Chorus and Art programs.

Volunteers provide support to our Music Director, Art Director and Art Instructor as well an encouragement and friendship to our singers and artists. The commitment can range from four, six, eight and sixteen week programs.

SNAP Special Artists operates in an eight week fall and spring session and a four week winter and summer session on Saturdays. SNAP Crafts operates for four weeks on Tuesday evenings. SNAP Ceramics operates for six weeks on Tuesday evenings. All SNAP programs take place at the Lexington Community Center.

Volunteers are provided with detailed guidelines and a volunteer orientation is held over Zoom.

Middle School volunteers are able to participate in a peer mentor program for our children’s art classes.
